Delicious Delarosa Pizza in the Heart of San Fran
By Joanna Bomers
With its lively atmosphere, cheery service, and enchanting décor, Delarosa is the hottest new pizzeria in dynamic downtown San Francisco.
Just minutes from the always-bustling Market Street at 37 Yerba Buena Lane, the popular Delarosa pizza restaurant sticks to its Italian roots and offers delicious Roman-style, crispy thin-crust pizzas and other excellent cuisine in a fresh, welcoming, and very trendy setting. The restaurant also includes a bar with no-end of imaginative cocktails, and a large outdoor patio with communal seating.
For starters, we chose the roasted cauliflower with pangrattato and chili. The portion served is big enough to satisfy anyone’s appetite, and is perfect for sharing. The cauliflower was crispy with an even amount of spice, while the pangrattato brought a whole other element of crunchiness to this delicious antipasti dish.
Our choice of Roman-style pizza for was topped with spicy fennel sausage, mozzarella, and onion. It was a tough choice when considering the huge variety of toppings available on the Delarosa’s extensive menu. But we knew the moment ours arrived that we’d chosen the right one. The result is a scrumptious assembly of flavours and textures guaranteed to satisfy (and did they ever!).
A nice touch, should you be so inclined, is the chance to choose from the long list of creative pizza styles and then add any extra desired toppings you may crave. Of if you’re really adventurous, create your own inventive pizza variation using the huge selection of toppings from the menu.
Savoury and spicy, crunchy on the outside, chewy and cheesy on the inside… we were so pleased we saved room for a pasta dish, too! The crispy tagliolini dumplings with mozzarella, prosciutto, green peas, and spicy marinara sauce was our delectably satisfying choice of pasta. No doubt about it, this tasty pasta dish unquestionably goes very well with the pizzas.
This classy pizzeria is definitely a superb choice for a gathering place. It mixes a homey family-friendly feel (the kids we saw seemed to love the place!) with an edgy, modern twist.
The food is first-rate… unpretentious, fresh, and extremely delicious. So bring your family, friends, clients, and colleagues to impress, relax, and enjoy.
